Hello, I’m excited and humbled to announce my candidacy for Boone County Clerk in the May 2010 Republican primary. Serving as County Clerk is a tremendous responsibility. The County Clerk serves as the chief election authority for the County. Along with administering elections, the Clerk's Office maintains property deeds, titles and marriage records.
As someone who was born and raised in Boone County, I consider it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve Boone County. I will utilize my business, technology and public service experience to provide an efficient, secure and citizen friendly clerk’s office.
In order to focus fully on my race, I have stepped down as Chairman of Citizens for Lower Taxes. I am so thankful for the opportunity and for the friendships I made being a part of this all volunteer grass roots organization founded just over a year ago to fight the $48 million dollar park tax ballot initiative. I am proud of the successes our group had including stopping the park tax, bringing public awareness to wasteful government spending and advocating for tax relief and conservative principles.
As your next County Clerk, I intend to utilize this same conservative philosophy along with my customer-focused business experience to ensure Boone County has an efficient, secure and citizen friendly Clerk’s office.
I'm sure you will also notice that I have included easy ways for you to get more involved in the campaign. Please let me know if you would be interested in volunteering some time on the campaign or displaying a lawn sign at your home or business. There are a number of ways that people throughout the county are pitching in to help. And of course, I’ve also tried to make it easy for you to contribute to my efforts.
